"I feel better in myself
after talking to the counsellor"

Terms(forced agreement)

Traveller Counselling offers professional counselling over secure video link, using the third party service “Whereby.com”. All video links are fully encrypted and cannot be intercepted by other parties.

In order to set up online counselling sessions, counsellors require a contact phone number, which is collected via a secure form on the travellercounselling.ie website. This form is also encrypted and cannot be intercepted by unauthorised third parties.

All counsellors working for travellercounselling.ie are professionally qualified, accredited and insured. Confirmation of the above is the extent to which the travellercounselling.ie service is liable for their services and any disputes arising from using the service are between the counsellor providing the service and the client.

Counsellors endeavour at all times to provide a professional, safe service. Clients engage with the service at their own risk and should be familiar with the potential limitations, shortcomings and risks associated with online counselling and therapy before engaging with the service.

Online counselling and therapy is not suitable for crisis intervention, urgent or dangerous situations. Clients should not engage with the travellercounselling.ie online counselling service under such circumstances. There are alternative services which are appropriate in these circumstances, examples of which can be found on the travellercounselling.ie website.

Further details regarding the online counselling service can be obtained by contacting us via the details found on the website.

  • Feedback

“As manager of the organisation, I have seen the impact since the local counselling service was set up some years now. The taboo that Travellers always had in relation to counselling is no longer there.”

“Our clients have said that they do feel the benefit of using the service for a number of reasons. Before they did not understand counselling or what it was for, and to be able to talk to someone about their problems and issues, whether it be drug related or not, in a "safe and confidential environment" is key.”

(Jim O’Brien, Manager, Bray Traveller’s Community Development Group Ltd.)
